Hello! I am Adam Orin, experienced in the fields of physics, engineering, and education. I love to learn about the world, particularly in the realm of science and engineering, and use what I learn to make our home a little bit better for all. From a "concrete skills" perspective I believe that my personal strengths include

• Physics knowledge: Understanding of physics, specializing in astrophysics and cosmology.
• Programming: Experience programming in C, Python, php, and bash.
• Electronics: Expereince desigining, soldering, troubleshooting circuits, enclosures, and connects.
• Experimentation: Experience in data collection, mining, analysis, and visualization.
• Software: Experience using technical software like MySQL, LabVIEW, Mathematica, and Matlab.
• Management: Experience leading teams to accomplish goals on a timeline.
• Training: Experience writing procedures/curriculum, and training a team in those procedures.

From an "abstract skills" perspective, I believe that my personal strengths include

• Curiosity: Experience and interest in learning how to use new hardware, program in new languages, etc to tackle problems.
• Adaptable: Interest and desire to constantly evolve and increase my skill-set.
• Thoughtful: Passion for solving riddles and problems.
• Outside-the-box: Ability to ask probing questions and generate unique perspectives on problems.

From an "personality" perspective, I believe that my personal strengths include

• Honesty: strong sense of honesty and integrity
• Teamwork: desire to work in a team that helps each other and learns from each other.
• Empathy: strong sense of empathy which generates a positive respectful attitude towards all.
• Positive: desire to be have a positive impact both on human society and on our biosphere.

I was born and raised in the south bay of San Diego, a very diverse community filled with different cultures, so diversity is the norm for me. I went to UCSD, where I earned a BS and then an MS in physics. I also enjoy educating others about science, and earned an MEd from UCSD as well. I love science, animals (especially cats), and veggie burgers.
